CrossFit has been a positive light in my life since the day I walked through the doors of a CrossFit gym in 2014.
I am a Nurse Practitioner by day, specializing in Endocrinology, and CrossFit is the best "treatment" that I have found for reversing chronic disease. Coaching has allowed me to spread my passion for the lifestyle that CrossFit grants us; increased strength, happiness, confidence, the list goes on. Opening Orchard Valley CrossFit has been a dream come true, being able to create a safe and supportive space for people to improve their lives.
CrossFit has increased my functionality in day-to-day life and truly makes me feel my own kind of beautiful.

From a young age I have always had a passion for sports and physical exercise. After graduating college I found myself bored with the regular “globo-gym” exercise routine. Looking for guidance and something new, I found CrossFit. Ever since my first class I was enthralled and immediately fell in love with the mentality, community, and purpose driven movements. I can honestly say I have never been bored with CrossFit, whether it is hitting a new personal best or getting crushed by a WOD, it is by far one of the things I most look forward to in my day. As a CrossFit Trainer I am honored to help people become the best version of themselves. If you’re having a bad day - come to CrossFit, if you’re having a good day - come to CrossFit, if you need a safe place - come to CrossFit. The supportive community and the encouragement is all you need to turn your day, and even you life, around.

I took my first CrossFit class in 2015 and have been in love with it ever since. I grew up playing multiple sports and continued to go to the gym throughout college and afterward, but unhealthy habits and lack of consistency kept me from making real progress. After having my second child I found CrossFit. I am constantly amazed at how dramatically my fitness and nutrition have improved. These healthy changes even carried me through my third pregnancy; I was able to CrossFit the entire time thanks to the scalability of the movements and workouts. I am excited to coach and help people reach a level of fitness they may have never expected. CrossFit really is for everyone and I can't wait to help more people fall in love with it!

I was born and raised in Western New York and grew up playing a variety of sports including basketball, football, baseball, and track and field. None of which have compared to the passion and fulfillment I have found in CrossFit. I’ve learned so many fundamental skills and the value of nutrition and the impact it has on my life, both inside and outside of the gym. CrossFit has changed my life in ways that I cannot describe. While I had a long-time interest in learning more about the sport, I never took the first step in joining the community until my wife and I moved to the Hudson Valley from Queens, NY. Before we relocated, we lived down the street from CrossFit Queens and would see athletes carrying weights on their backs, sprinting past us in groups. Though we were slightly intimidated, we finally took the leap and joined Orchard Valley in 2019. It was very soon after that I realized the passion I have for CrossFit and being a part of a family of like-minded individuals who show up for themselves and one another.
I’m a high school social studies teacher at Newburgh Free Academy and love working with kids. It’s amazing to watch them grow into their own as individuals. Through teaching, I have coached basketball, baseball, rugby, and tennis. It’s a privilege to work with young adults to help them realize their potential.
If teaching has taught me anything, it’s that success is measured by so much more than grades and scores. I’ve watched fellow CrossFit athletes reach successes far beyond weights and scores, and I am so excited to be a member of the OVCF coaching team!

My name is William Maelia and I started my CrossFit journey with Orchard Valley CrossFit in 2018 with my wife, Chelsea. We were looking for a place where we could workout together, and the local “Globo” gym that I was a member at was not really what we were both looking for. From the moment we walked in the doors of Orchard Valley, we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel at home. Orchard Valley quickly became our community, our friends, and our family. We became not only a group that sweats together for an hour a day, but also a group of people that support each other in and out of the gym.
I was a high school and collegiate rower and swimmer. I have also worked as a swim coach for Somers High School and Mount Saint Mary College and a crew coach for Arlington High School and Newburgh Free Academy. I am a high school Science Research teacher at Somers High School in Westchester County and also work as a realtor in the Hudson Valley for Keller Williams Realty. In my spare time I love to go camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. I am an avid fan of travel and am the vice-president and co-founder of a non-profit educational travel company. I am also currently working on my Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University.
I live in the Town of Newburgh with my wife, Chelsea, and our two dogs. I am elated to be on the coaching team at Orchard Valley and having the opportunity to give back to the community that has given us so much. The tremendous coaching staff at Orchard Valley has helped me to achieve previously unthinkable milestones in my fitness journey and I hope to be able to aide others in their own pursuits. I look forward to working with you all and crushing our goals together, side-by-side!

I started CrossFit 6 months after having my last baby. I was defeated, over weight, and unhealthy. I had been a competitive athlete my whole life. After college I found distance running to feed my need to push myself physically. But after having my kids it became too hard to find the time to run 50 miles a week. I felt lost. The struggle of having two small children, working, and trying to be the best Mother, wife, and teacher I could be was too much. I felt like I was failing in so many ways. Then I found CrossFit. Every time I stepped into the gym I saw growth, I found a community, and saw how important it was to make time for my physical and mental health. I was hooked. A year into my CrossFit journey I was asked if I would like to coach. It felt natural, as an educator I have always loved to sharing my passions with people. This felt like the perfect way to help people find what I found in CrossFit. OVCF has such an amazing and supportive community of athletes and coaches I feel very lucky to be a part of it.

During the day, I work as a Program Director, collaborating with universities to expand global educational access. In the evenings, you can find me at Orchard Valley where I train and cheer alongside the incredible OVCF crew.
My journey into Crossfit began in 2019, and prior to that, I hadn’t considered myself an athlete. Growing up, I was heavily involved in competitive cheerleading, never imagining that fitness and strength would become such integral parts of my life. After moving from Queens to the Hudson Valley with my husband (many of you know him as Coach Brian!) I gave Crossfit at Orchard Valley a try in hopes of making new friends. Little did I know, I would not only discover lifelong friendships, but also a supportive community and team of inspiring coaches who would completely reshape my perspective.
Being surrounded by individuals who share similar goals and prioritize fun while pushing boundaries was truly transformative. It has helped me grow both mentally and physically, giving me newfound strength and confidence to push beyond my limits. I have a deep appreciation for Crossfit’s impact on my life. Now, as a member of the coaching team, I am excited to pay it forward and contribute to the OVCF community that has played such a pivotal role in my personal journey.

I grew up in Marlboro, NY. I’m an ultra-marathoner, functional movement/corrective exercise specialist, and yoga enthusiast. I love all things outdoors from hiking & camping to trail running, skiing, kayaking, mountain biking, etc. Athletically, I’ve mainly been a runner and now I’m on track to become even more well-rounded with CrossFit and Olympic Lifting. My favorite lift is the Snatch! I love kettlebells and Steel Mace too!
In my career, I’ve worked in many industries like fitness, hospitality/restaurants, retail, and even construction. Now and longest, I’ve been a NASM CPT with 8 years of personal training experience from small private gyms to the high-end big box gyms to running my own personal training business. I have a genuine love for human movement and figuring out what it actually means to incorporate health & wellness into your life. I believe everyone is different in their definition of fitness and I love helping them figure out what that is and learn how to pivot when life decides to “life”.'

I moved back to Newburgh 8 years ago from Brooklyn with my wife Nicole. Outside of the gym you can find me wrangling my two daughters, helping run a web design agency with Nicole, or fixing one of the cars we have. I started at OVCF in 2022, before that I was doing mostly bodyweight HIIT style workouts locally, or on my own.
While intimidated at first, I grew to love CrossFit through the community at OVCF for how encouraging and supportive everyone is. The positivity, the cheers (and sometimes the needed challenging nudge). I enjoy the sense of accomplishment from tackling something difficult that CrossFit provides daily. My favorite movements are the Snatch and Burpees precisely because they can be difficult. I wanted to become a coach to continue briniging the awesome OVCF culture to people so they feel that same sense of accomplishment that keeps my time at the gym one of the best parts of each day.

I live in Newburgh with my wife Lindsay and two cats. I am a Corporate Controller for a local hospital and hold a CPA license. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, snowboarding, and biking, or just relaxing. Thanks to Coach’s Shannon’s Olympic lifting class, my favorite lift is the snatch. I wanted to become a coach here at Orchard Valley to support the community that I have been a part of for over 3 years.

I’m 35 and have lived in the Newburgh/New Windsor area my whole life. I am a father of 4. My full time job is a UPS driver. My favorite lift is the deadlift and I also found love with burpees. I’ve been doing CrossFit since September of 2020. I’ve done a lot of HIIT training in the past and I’ve grown to love the sport of CrossFit. Helping people has always been a passion of mine and I want to share that passion with you all. Whatever your goals are in fitness and health, I’ll do my absolute best to get you there. No feat is too big or too small to overcome. Once the clock gets going it’s all business and a little fun in between!

I was born and raised in Cornwall NY. Being a Firefighter runs in the family. My Father is retired, and my brother is currently a West Point firefighter. I work for the City of Newburgh Fire Department. I have a wife Randi and two boys Jerry and Emmett.
In 2018, I found Orchard Valley CrossFit and it changed me forever. The changes I have experienced from CrossFit have stretched far beyond the gym. From work to home to health in general. I am super excited to be able to help others discover all the hidden benefits of CrossFit.
